This one-day Wind Skillnet course introduces small-scale wind technologies; topics covered include system types, the differences between small- and large-scale wind systems, as well as the current technical and economic challenges facing small scale wind systems. Danish Wind Power Academy Courses

The Danish Wind Power Academy is conducting a range of training courses on various turbine types during 2012, some in Ireland. DWPA’s Vestas V52 Turbine Course will take place during March 2012 at DkIT.

KidWind Teacher Training

KidWind is a teacher training course about wind energy. In Ireland, KidWind training is provided by the Centre for Renewable Energy at Dundalk IT in association with IWEA, Wind Skillnet with the generous support of corporate sponsors including Gaelectric and Bord Gáis. From the Irish Wind Energy Association’s website, about KidWind:

M.Sc. in Renewable Energy Systems

CREDIT is centrally involved with the M.Sc. in Renewable Energy Systems; its staff teach wind energy, bioenergy and electrical grid integration.

Vestas V52 Maintenance Training

This course provides in-depth maintenance training for the Vestas V52. All procedures and related documentation are reviewed. About 80% of the course time is on-site at a Vestas V52 turbine.

Certificate in Renewable Energy

Our new certificate course launched in October 2011 and will run for two semesters.

The course will bring learners through the technologies of renewable energy including wind, solar, water and bioenergy. An applied project will be required at the end of the course and will focus on a local energy setting. The course is offered at HETAC level 6 and will award 20 ECTS credits on successful completion.
